Mentoring Program

For licensed or certified healthcare providers looking for a mentor to help enhance their manual therapy skills, several opportunities are available.

I believe that sharing the holistic approach of evaluating and treating the whole body with colleagues, students, and professional organizations will increase the number of successful practitioners.

Manual Therapy Study Group

I lead a manual therapy study group every 2-3 months that discusses a wide range of manual therapy topics. A variety of different practitioners – including physical therapists, massage therapists, and physicians – of all levels of experience participate in this group discussion.

Individual Mentoring Session

These sessions will enable manual therapists to enhance various aspects of their clinical skill set, including:

  • Improve their application of specific treatment techniques.

  • Develop a deeper understanding of a specific or general treatment philosophy.

  • Consult about difficult patients – with or without the patients present. Joint treatment sessions are encouraged if the patient attends the session.

Small Group Mentoring Package

Four 5-hour sessions give a comprehensive overview of all aspects of being a manual therapist. Small group sizes (4-6) enable each participant to practice and get personalized feedback.

  • Session 1: Assessment of a New Patient – Medical History, Scan Tests, and Formation of a Treatment Plan
  • Session 2: Understanding How Aberrant Physiology Affects Treatment Decisions
  • Session 3: Treatment Principles – Musculoskeletal Focus
  • Session 4: Treatment Principles – Visceral-Autonomic Focus

Case studies and patient practice will enhance learning in each session. 20 CEU Hours for NCBTMB and the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners will be requested.

Dates to be determined once a group forms. Contact Bob for details not listed on the Registration page.
